Our Story
A sofa story that started in a Sydney apartment.
Forme Living Co. began with one very real moving experience — starting fresh, furnishing a new home, and realising buying a sofa should not be this hard.
A note from our founder.
Forme Living Co. came from a very real chapter in my life - moving to Sydney with my partner and starting a new home from scratch.
It was exciting, but it was also a lot.
A new city. A new neighbourhood to explore. New jobs to start. New routines to figure out. New people to meet. And in the middle of all of that, we wanted to create a home that felt like our little piece of quiet.
Somewhere comfortable. Sophisticated but not precious. Calm, welcoming and easy to live in.
We wanted a home we could share.
A place where new friends could come over, where old friends could visit, where people could sit down, stay a while, and feel comfortable. For us, the sofa was a big part of that.
It was not just another piece of furniture. It was where life would happen.
Then came the sofa.
Like a lot of people setting up a new place, we had to buy almost everything.The bed, the dining table, the everyday essentials, the pieces that slowly make a house feel like home. At first, it was fun. Then it started to feel expensive, tiring and honestly a bit overwhelming.
By the time we got to buying a sofa, we were over it.
We wanted something beautiful, comfortable and generous. A big couch that made the space feel open and relaxed, and gave us room to properly settle in. After searching, comparing, measuring and finally choosing one, we thought the hard part was done.
The delivery day.
The sofa arrived, but it would not fit around the hallway corner in our apartment. We had measured the room, but not every awkward turn along the way. After all the effort, all the waiting and all the money spent, we had to send it back.
It was frustrating, but it also made something very clear: buying a sofa should not feel this hard.
The beginning of FORMÈ.
We wanted to create a better way to buy a sofa. One that still felt considered, beautiful and comfortable, but made more sense for real homes. Homes with lifts, stairwells, narrow hallways, tight corners and people already juggling busy lives.
Our sofas are delivered compactly in boxes, so they are easier to receive, move and set up. Once unboxed, they expand into full-sized, comfortable pieces made for everyday living.
Forme Living is about taking the stress out of buying a sofa, without taking away the joy of creating a beautiful home.
Because starting fresh should feel exciting - not exhausting.
